This logo was made for a short film, directed by Glen Michel, that was specifically used for the film’s poster. The premise of the film centered around an artist that it was important for the title itself to visually convey such profession. When designing the title the director wanted the typography to look hand written as much as possible. Since the title included the name of the main character I thought it would be interesting to have the name “Lily” written out in a brush pen like calligraphy, given the main character is an artist, while the remaining title used a more stylized treatment, using the color pink, in which to better distinguish the name from the title itself. At the director’s request I included a stock image of a little girl with a balloon within the imagery of the poster but I felt, based on what I was told of the film. I felt such imagery would much better be fattened within the title itself. This is the first time I have ever used figurative work within title art for a film poster. It's always amazing to see what each new job makes you end up creating!
