This was the very first, official, poster created for the sci-fi horror film CIRCLE (2015). After filming had officially wrapped, and post production was underway, it was my job to produce artwork that would visually represent the film from an artistic standpoint. This particular poster was considered a "teaser" in that it doesn't give any particular information about the film other then to create, as intended, a sense of mystery through abstract imagery. While very little was offered about the film, besides it very logline involving 50 strangers being held against their will as they had to vote every round to who lived and died, that the task was to create a minimalist imagery that would convey just enough information that would spark interest in the film. The set designer of the film had produced the geometric floor graphic, in which the captives standing on each individual circle, that I thought it would be intriguing to work into the teaser poster. However, rather then having the floor pattern be simply flat I felt it would be more dynamic for the pattern to be somewhat in perspective and warped to the point it felt the pattern looked as if it was in a dome shape. Which in turn made the look ever so reminiscent to the very dome within the center of the room itself. Upon completing the design, and look, of the poster a tagline was needed in which to further establish a sense, to what is minimalistic, of what the film involved that a tagline was needed. In this case, having seen the film multiple times as a result to post productions, I had always felt the line in which the doctor character stated "In here...everything gets you killed." was the perfect line in which to use for the poster for it magnificently described the situation the captives were in.
